Exciting News for October!

Elite will be donating a portion of all sales for the month of October to SPARCC! 

October is domestic violence awareness month.

Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc. (SPARCC) was formed as a non-profit agency in 1979. SPARCC is the only state-certified center for domestic violence and sexual assault services for Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. All of SPARCC’s services are free and confidential. In addition to serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, SPARCC is actively engaged in promoting social change through community awareness and education in an effort to prevent violence in the future.

Emergency Shelter

SPARCC provided 6,503 shelter days to a total of 187 adults and 117 children.

Advocacy
1,497 survivors of violence received services in our outreach offices. Services include: safety planning, crisis counseling, court advocacy, referrals for community resources, and support groups.


Helpline
4,086 helpline callers were provided with crisis counseling and needs assessments.

Hospital Team
Volunteers and staff responded to 76 emergency calls from area hospitals to meet with sexual and domestic violence
survivors in order to provide support and information regarding SPARCC services.

Children & Youth Program
134 children were provided with individual and group counseling. 733 multi-session violence prevention education presentations were given to more than 4,500 school children.
