We at Elite think our staff are pretty awesome and want to give you the pleasure to get to know them as well! Meet Jillian.
- What do you do for Elite? I’m an estoppel researcher!
- What do you love most about your job? I love the element of discovery; I feel like I’ve sort of toured most of Florida during my time here.
- Do you have any hobbies? Nothing I do consistently. I used to crochet every winter, but we don’t really have winter down here like Chicago, so scarves and blankets aren’t as useful. I had a whole glass cutting phase, so I repurposed a lot of glass bottles for awhile. Everyone got dreamcatchers for every gift-giving event for about a year. I’ve been a little obsessed with learning how to roller-skate, so that’s probably next.
- Do you volunteer anywhere? No.
- What is something you will absolutely never eat? I actually graduated from culinary school, so there’s really nothing I don’t eat anymore. I used to say brussels sprouts, but I think that’s just because of how my mom made them when I was a kid…
- What was your first concert? Stevie Ray Vaughan. I was itty bitty, but still super annoyed that he never looked up at the crowd. (I didn’t understand the intricacies of guitar playing, at the time.)
- What is your favorite family tradition? My mom’s birthday is 3 days after mine, so we have a whole birthday week of cake and festivities.
- Which store would you max out your credit card? If I’m splurging, it’s a tie between Michaels and Books-A-Million. In reality, I max it out at the grocery store all the time. (For fun, I promise.)
- What was your first job? My first (documented) job was as a snake handler and tour guide at a reptile zoo, but the summer before that I was a pony handler for a company that did pony rides at parties.
- How do you like your eggs? I’m a sucker for a sous vide egg. (It’s like a cross between poached and soft boiled)
- Coke or Pepsi? Coffee.
- What is your favorite holiday? First day of spring.
- What is something that you cannot live without? Glitter.
